Mission Statement

 
  • Action Research Centre Ltd is a registered charity combining research on the issues of social cohesion and domestic & family violence, with advocacy with policymakers, and awareness in the community to eliminate marginality.

Our Mission

  • Action Research Centre Ltd was established for the public charitable purpose of conducting research in the areas of social and public welfare, mental health and wellness, care and needs of asylum seekers, homeless people, and women, men and children experiencing family and domestic violence. Action Research Centre’s mission is to:

    a. promote and engage in research activities that enhance the living conditions of those affected by temporary or chronic homelessness, family and domestic violence, and asylum seekers in need of resettlement;

    b. advance advocacy on the issues of new refugees’ resettlement, social cohesion and social change;

    c. promote the transitional arrangement into relevant services that will minimise the risks and effects of family and domestic violence;

    d. promote the policy changes to eradicate the path into chronic homelessness and to chart a new path for people to come out of chronic homelessness;

    e. advocate multiple ways to overcome health risks associated with family and domestic violence, homelessness, and refugee resettlements;

    f. engage in research projects and analyses on the issues of social justice including but not limited to the problems of social exclusion, asylum immigration, family and domestic violence, and homelessness;

    g. disseminate our research outcomes through policy dialogue with policymakers and the general public in ways that initiate policy changes and enhance the living conditions of people at risk of chronic homelessness, refugees and asylum seekers, and families experiencing domestic violence;

    h. advance and collaborate with organisations pursuing similar objects in advocacy and research to effect social change;

    i. promote skills and education needed for social belonging, inclusion and employability of refugees and asylum seekers;

    j. create community awareness and promote corporate social responsibility in the prevention and management of chronic homelessness and domestic violence for disadvantaged Australians.

 Action Research Centre Ltd respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation as traditional owners and custodians of the land on which ARC Ltd stands. We acknowledge that the land was never ceded and we pay our respect to them, their customs, their culture, to elders past and present and to their emerging leaders.
