Maureen Hegarty
Maureen is a software engineer and project manager at Communus, a marketing and business promotion organisation. Communus also manages a large business network, Networking Matters, aimed at bringing corporate, government, small businesses and NFPs together to assist their business connections.
Maureen has been involved in SME’s and public participation ventures for many years. Her extensive business experience has given her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of connecting key stakeholders with each other for mutual benefit. She has a particular interest in connecting people with aligned interests and assisting businesses to partner for positive community outcomes
Maureen has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts. She spent many years working abroad in the healthcare sector and the education field which involved strategic planning for engagement for philanthropic outcomes.
Maureen is committed to advocating for, and empowering, marginalised people and their families to achieve optimal independence and just outcomes.
